Write for us
Bright Leisure Guide welcomes pitches that make a leisure subject clearer, more interesting or easier to choose between. Send proposals through the Contact page; a focused idea beats a broad promise to write about hobbies.
What we want to read
Pitch an evergreen piece about a pastime, game, creative pursuit, collecting habit or the history of leisure. Strong proposals have one central question, a defined reader and a useful distinction or fresh angle. We welcome explainers, comparisons, cultural histories, myth checks and occasion-specific guides that do not depend on risky instructions or changing local rules.
Make the pitch specific
Include a working title, a short summary of the main idea and the point the reader should take away. Explain why the subject fits Bright Leisure Guide and note the kinds of sources needed for factual or historical claims. If the idea relies on personal experience, say so plainly; do not present invented experience as reporting.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send your proposal. Include only material relevant to the pitch. A proposal is not a commission, and we may ask for clarification before deciding whether it fits.
